Cobweb (2011-2012) is a series of cartographic palimpsests based on the random superimposition of ghetto maps. Here the sign becomes autonomous and enters into a freer combination and towards a higher level of abstraction, a visual implosion where the sight is trapped by this entanglement of dynamic and chaotic lines: the deadly net of a cobweb. These drawings have been made with black carbon paper on handmade paper previously primed with rabbit skin glue and chalk, giving them a rigid consistency, hard and fragile like a plaster plate.
