In the series The Names the artistic investigation focuses on the writing of the victims’ names. The material blurring of the linguistic sign and the stratification of the palimpsest, with its superimposition of layers of writing that cancel each other out, become the visual metaphors of the victims’ disappearance. This series seeks to claim the erased identity of the Spanish Republicans who died in the Nazi camps, the truly forgotten of history.
